CommentsThis plant is a sterile hybrid of Equisetum hyemale and E. laevigatum, a species not found in New Jersey. Reproduction is only vegetative. Stems are perennial and evergreen, with stomata in rows. The sheaths are enlarged upwards, with a black girdle at the base. The cones have rigid points.
